International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of political, economic, and social interactions between sovereign states and non-state actors on a global scale. It encompasses the analysis of foreign affairs, diplomacy, conflict resolution, international treaties, and organizations that facilitate cooperation among nations. IR examines the relationships between countries, focusing on issues such as power dynamics, security, trade, human rights, and environmental concerns. The field draws on theories from political science, history, law, economics, and sociology to understand how states behave, how international systems function, and the impact of global events on national and international stability. It also addresses the role of international organizations, such as the United Nations, and regional alliances, like NATO or the European Union, in fostering collaboration or managing disputes among different countries.
