Soccer

Soccer, known as football in most of the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The primary objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, using any part of the body except the arms and hands (goalkeepers are an exception). The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, which has two goalposts at each end.

Matches are typically divided into two halves of 45 minutes each, with a short halftime break. The team with the most goals at the end of the match wins, while a draw can occur if both teams score the same number of goals. Soccer is governed by a set of rules called the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) and overseen by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) at the international level.

Soccer is one of the most popular sports globally, characterized by its simplicity and inclusivity, making it accessible to players and fans across diverse cultures and communities.
