NBA

NBA stands for the National Basketball Association, which is a professional basketball league in North America. It is widely regarded as one of the premier sports leagues in the world, consisting of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). The NBA was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, originally as the Basketball Association of America (BAA) before merging with the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1949 and adopting its current name.

The league is known for its high level of competition and has produced many of the greatest basketball players in history. NBA games are played during the regular season, followed by a playoff tournament that culminates in the NBA Finals, where the two conference champions compete for the championship title. The NBA also significantly impacts global basketball culture, with a large international following and initiatives to promote the sport around the world.
